Born in 1899 in Brooklin, New York, to poor parenta, Al Capone went on to become the most famous gangster in American history. Al Capone was the son of Gabriete and Teresina Capone. A poor family that came to America seeking a better life. Capone's father was a barber, and his mother was a seamstress. There was nothing in Capone's childhood or family life that could predict his rise as America's most famous notorious gangster.

Capone was a good student in his Brooklyn elementary school. but began falling out. By this time the capone's had moved out to a better home in the outskirts of the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. It was here that Capone met his future wife and his mentor Johny Torrio.

In 1925, Capone became boss when Torrio, surrendered control and retired to Brooklyn. Capone built a reputation in the gang at this period. That reputation grew as gangs were eliminated.
